Suburbicon
George Clooney directs a period crime comedy from an early script by the Coen brothers
Award-winning, Bristol-shot gay thriller B&B gets its first local screening this week, as does Kiwi western The Stolen, which is the new one from Clevedon’s very own Niall Johnson, hot from his headline-grabbing weepie Mum’s List. Elsewhere, the big new releases are feminist sports drama Battle of the Sexes, comedy sequel Daddy’s Home 2 and Suburbicon, which George Clooney directed from a script found down the back of the Coen brothers’ sofa. Oh, and Disney’s Frozen is back in cinemas this weekend only, along with a new 21-minute Olaf the snowman short. On the event cinema front, we have the return of Mountains on Stage and, live from the West End, the first in a new series of productions of Oscar Wilde classics: A Woman of No Importance. Scroll down for details of these and more, and go here for our fully comprehensive film listings.
