Storysmith present special book event with Neneh Cherry
Just like their ever-changing shelves, indie booksellers Storysmith are renowned for curating an eclectic variety of literary events to suit every taste.
They are fresh from hosting garlanded Norwegian novelist Vigdis Hjorth and her translator Charlotte Barslund, and will be welcoming children’s author Sean Taylor back to the bookshop on September 15 for a free creative book event based on his new release, You’re a Poet.
In November, they will be welcoming Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Powers to The Station in central Bristol, to discuss his new novel, Playground.

But the announcement of particularly special event on October 1 at St George’s has a particular resonance for local music fans.
Neneh Cherry will be in conversation with author and music journalist Jude Rogers about her hotly anticipated memoir, A Thousand Threads.
From her post-punk roots to seminal involvement with Massive Attack in their formative years and a hugely successful career as a solo artist, Cherry is also known for her boundless capacity to reinvent herself, collaborating with numerous bands and musicians – Michael Stipe, Anohni, Geoff Barrow, Tricky and Four Tet among them – across more than four decades of work.
The release of her memoir represents the first time she has shared her personal story.
Neneh Cherry: A Thousand Threads, presented by Storysmith, is at St George’s on October 1 at 7.30pm. Tickets are available at www.stgeorgesbristol.co.uk.
