Art / City Made for Christmas

Visit Bristol artwork up for global award

By Rebecca Hodson  Thursday May 18, 2017

A piece of artwork created for Visit Bristol’s festive short breaks campaign in 2016 has been shortlisted for a prestigious global award.

Artist Sam Pierpoint’s paper illustration, City Made For Christmas, is up for an award at the World Illustration Awards.

“This project is one I am especially proud of,” Pierpoint explains. “It was a pleasure collaborating with Peloton Design and Michael Foyle Photography to create something special for Visit Bristol and help encourage people to visit and shop in Bristol around the festive season.”

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Commissioned in partnership with Peloton Design, who are based in Paintworks, the festive model was a part of the Merry Bristmas campaign and displayed in an empty unit in The Arcade over Christmas last year.

Jon Chamberlain, marketing manager at Destination Bristol, who was responsible for the campaign said: “City Made For Christmas was definitely my favourite piece of artwork that we have used over the last few years. It stood out in a crowded market and was incredibly well-received.”
