Bristol street artists paint stately home
An 18th century Neo-Palladian mansion in Worcestershire is the unusual new canvas for a trio of Bristol graffiti artists.
Silent Hobo, Cheo and Andrew Colwill have been creating a 40-foot high artwork at Croome Court as the National Trust-owned house is temporarily covered in scaffolding.
Upfest have been helping to coordinate the project, with other artists including My Dog Sighs who hosted a popular exhibition at the Upfest gallery on North Street earlier this year.
“Bringing together this project for the National Trust has been one of the most interesting projects I’ve worked on,” says Upfest’s Stephen Hayles, who helped bring the artists to Croome.
“This is a first for the National Trust and also a first for painting onto such a large temporary surface which has brought its own challenges and interest. For me, the project encompasses what Croome is all about and for it to take place in such a stunning setting is the cherry on the cake.”
