The Arnolfini has appointed interim director Kate Brindley as its new permanent boss.
Brindley said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the director of Arnolfini, and I am looking forward to continuing to work with partners and communities in the city to shape the next chapter for the organisation.
“The ongoing commitment from the Arts Council to Arnolfini for the next three years is a vote of confidence as we plan the future programme, building on Arnolfini’s legacy in Bristol and beyond.”
Before arriving at the Arnolfini in April, Brindley was director of the Middlesbrough Institute of Contemporary Art (mima). She is also credited as the woman who brought Banksy to Bristol Museum and who was behind the creation of the M Shed.
