One man in hospital and shop smashed in hit and run

Police are investigating a hit and run on Church Road after a driver knocked down a pedestrian and rammed into the front of a shop before fleeing the scene.

A man in his 30s was taken to hospital with a “minor” head injury after the incident at CM3 discount shop at about 1.30pm on Wednesday afternoon.

He was struck by a black Ford Focus. Police are asking witnesses to contact them on 101, quoting reference 435 9/11/16.
