Wind turbine inspection company to expand with largest-ever investment
A company which uses AI and drones to inspect wind turbines is set to expand after receiving its largest investment to date.
Perceptual Robotics will use the £2.7m funding to expand into the North America and Latin American territories, as well as double its team.
It is the latest step-up for the Bristol-based company, which has sites across Europe and launched operations in Southeast Asia earlier this year.

“With this latest investment, we look forward to continuing our vital work into offshore inspections and advanced analytics, guaranteeing our customers have everything they need to ensure their assets are delivering time and again.”

The investment is being led by OnePlanetCapital, a climate change-focused early-stage venture capital fund.

Perceptual Robotics was founded out of the University of Bristol in 2016 and uses self-service drones to collect high-quality wind turbine data in less than 20 minutes.
AI in the drones can detect any damage and provides clients with all the information they need to carry out maintenance, reduce downtime, increase safety and cut costs.
