Creative entrepreneurs to run event on building online businesses
As the online economy continues to grow with a new crop of entrepreneurs, a Bristol business event will explore how to adapt and grow in the age of LinkedIn.
Despite its fair share of detractors, LinkedIn has become a valuable platform which is reshaping branding, recruitment and business growth.
The event is co-hosted by acclaimed portrait photographer Darius Jéan and Amy Weidner, founder of branding agency BOLD.
Jéan, who has worked with major national brands, said LinkedIn had become one of the most commercially valuable platforms for businesses because users are already operating in a professional mindset.

“Compared to other social media platforms, LinkedIn has become a key focus for many businesses as a way of growing their business,” he said.
“Pretty much everyone on LinkedIn is in work mode when browsing the platform.
“It offers a distinct advantage compared to other platforms; the ability to reach key decision-makers by educating them about your services.”
The evening will include a fireside chat with Weidner, who built a six-figure business through LinkedIn and generated more than eight million organic impressions over the past year.
Recognised as a LinkedIn Top Voice in 2025, she has worked with brands including Gartner and Aer Lingus on brand positioning and audience growth strategies.

Organisers said the event reflects a broader shift in how businesses market themselves online, with personal branding and visual identity increasingly shaping commercial opportunities.
“The personal brand is a way to enhance your reputation by showing expertise, personality and aesthetics all packaged into a consistent message,” Jéan added.
The free event will take place at Metro Bank at Broadmead on Tuesday from 6pm to 8pm and is sponsored by Metro Bank UK.
