Bristol pharma-tech firm marks milestone with dispensing software
The Bristol-based pharma-tech firm Titan PMR, part of Invatech Health, has reached a major milestone by partnering with 1,000 pharmacies in England and Wales, who are now using its cloud-based medication dispensing software.
The 1,000th adopter of the dispensing software is May & Thomson Pharmacy in Woking, which installed Titan as part of a major modernisation effort.
Titan became the first NHS-accredited cloud-based patient medication record (PMR) system back in 2019 and now handles over 12 per cent of UK prescriptions.

With adoption rates doubling in the past 18 months, chief executive Tariq Muhammad predicts expansion to 2,000 pharmacies within three years, potentially covering over a third of independent pharmacies in England and Wales by 2028.
“We’re delighted to have reached this milestone,” said Muhammad.
“And it’s fitting that such a forward-looking pharmacy as May & Thomson has become the 1,000th in the UK to deploy Titan.
“In the past five years or so, we’ve become the benchmark for revolutionising this sector, disrupting the market along the way and offering pharmacists the opportunity to innovate and focus on new areas of business growth.”
He added: “Patients are enjoying visiting pharmacies that are calm, organised, and where pharmacists can offer them their full attention.
“We now see pharmacists as being uniquely placed to use their training, combined with the power of innovative technology, to help patients and lighten the burden carried by the NHS.”
Pharmacist Sunil Chandarana, who runs May & Thomson, said the technology enables a more agile, service-driven model of pharmacy that supports both patients and the NHS.

Chandarana, whose family has been running the pharmacy for 42 years, said: “We’re proud to be the 1,000th pharmacy to deploy Titan. It’s a landmark moment for me and the team, as we move into these new premises and revolutionise the way our business operates.
“As we’ve relocated, we’ve gone from one consultation room to six, so we are able to offer a wider range of services. We want the public to see us as more than just a dispensing service – rather, as healthcare professionals who can provide a range of services in an expert setting.”
The system has been lauded for improving safety, workflow and productivity, and will soon be complemented by Titanverse, a new platform for clinical pharmacy services.
Tariq Muhammad, a former community pharmacist-turned-entrepreneur, plans to double staff (100) and move into a new Bristol headquarters on Averay Road in Stapleton later this year.
