National Friendly completes charity walk for Prostate Cancer UK

By Bristol24/7  Wednesday Oct 22, 2025

Bristol-based mutual insurer National Friendly took to the leafy paths of Queen Square this month for a charity walk in support of its charity of the year, Prostate Cancer UK.

Founded in 1868, National Friendly has a long history of providing health and protection cover for its members, and an equally strong tradition of giving back to the community.

Staff from across the company laced up their trainers and spent the day completing laps of the city’s historic square, with some taking part in groups and others fitting in a few laps between meetings.

A few even turned their strolls into “walking meetings” to make the most of the sunny weather and positive atmosphere.

The event brought together colleagues, supporters and passers-by who stopped to cheer, donate, or pick up a sweet treat from the team’s charity stall.

As the day went on, some walkers rounded things off with a well-earned drink on nearby King Street.

A spokesperson for National Friendly said: “Big thanks to everyone who stopped by to cheer us on, donate, or just grab a sweet treat from our stall. And a special shoutout to our friends at Spark Data Systems Ltd for their continued support, we really appreciate it.”
