1625 Independent People is delighted to announce its membership of the Bristol24/7 Better Business Network.
1625 Independent People is a Bristol-based charity supporting young people aged 16 to 25 who are experiencing, or at risk of, homelessness, or leaving care.
Their mission is to prevent homelessness, keep young people safe, support them to thrive and influence the environment around them.
Working across Bristol and the South West, 1625 Independent People delivers safe accommodation, pathways into education, training and employment and wellbeing support.

Their approach is trauma-informed and person-centred, empowering young people to build confidence, develop life skills, and become independent adults.
At the heart of their work is a simple belief: no young person should have to face homelessness alone.
Partnership plays a vital role in making this possible. Through meaningful collaborations with businesses, 1625 Independent People goes beyond fundraising to create real, lasting impact.
From volunteering and mentoring to skills-sharing and pro bono support, partners contribute in ways that strengthen both the charity’s work and their own teams.

These partnerships not only help provide essential services for young people, but also create tangible value for businesses, supporting social impact goals, employee engagement, and stronger connections with local communities.
Looking ahead, 1625 Independent People is embarking on an ambitious transformation of Kingsley Hall, a Grade II* listed building in Bristol’s Old Market.
This multimillion-pound regeneration will create a one-of-a-kind hub for young people, combining housing, support services and opportunities to build skills and confidence in a safe, welcoming environment.
