The Wave joins the Bristol24/7 Better Business network
The Wave is proud to join the Bristol24/7 Better Business community, a network of organisations committed to helping Bristol thrive while creating positive social impact across the city.
The Wave is the UK’s first inland surf destination.
Located in Easter Compton, just outside Bristol, The Wave uses state-of-the-art technology to produce consistent, rideable surf regardless of tide, swell or season.
The result is a destination built around accessibility: sessions are graded from beginner through to advanced.

The Wave Academy coaching programme is designed to take first-timers from their first stand-up to independent surfing, with no ocean experience required.
Alongside surf sessions, the site includes a Clubhouse, bar and cafe, retail and surf shop and two on-site stay options – The Camp glamping and The Field, a new pitching area for tents and campervans that opened in July.
Play in the Bay, The Wave’s dedicated bodyboarding offer for younger children, extends that same beginner-first approach to families with the youngest visitors.
Under new ownership since 2025, The Wave continues to work closely with partners including Surfing England, and to develop programmes with schools, universities and local clubs to widen access to surfing across the region and beyond.

“We built The Wave to make surfing possible for people who’d never otherwise get near it – a safe and welcoming place which is not weather-dependent, not tide-dependent, and not reliant on years of ocean experience,” said Mark Benjamin, head of marketing at The Wave.
“Joining the Better Business network is a natural fit for us. It’s a chance to connect with other Bristol businesses who care about the same thing we do: building strong communities and something that’s genuinely good for the city, not just good for us.”
