SOLD OUT: IDLES
Hometown heroes IDLES have had an incredible couple of years. First album Brutalism was released to glowing reviews and indicated a timely relevancy with the tracks covering a host of topics from feminism, the NHS and social classes. Labelled as ‘the most honest album of 2017’ by The Guardian and selected as one of BBC 6 Music’s albums of the year it was undeniably vital.
Without missing a beat IDLES bounced straight back into the studio to follow up their success and have triumphed in every imaginable way. Sophomore record, Joy as an Act of Resistance builds on everything that makes IDLES so relevant and gives them a shot of adrenaline. 12 tracks carrying a ton of weight and importance – touching on issues from immigration to toxic masculinity. It’s the album that 2018 needed from a band it doesn’t yet deserve.
