The Lodger: A Story of the London Fog + live score
- Director
- Alfred Hitchcock
- Certificate
- PG
- Running Time
- 90 mins
Set in a fog-shrouded, Ripper-era London, this best of Alfred Hitchcock‘s early silent films introduces many of the themes that were to obsess him throughout his career. There’s a serial killer known as The Avenger on the loose. He only targets blonde women and bumps them off on Tuesday evenings. A landlady comes to suspect that her rather odd new lodger might be the killer. Surely not – he’s Ivor Novello!
The Cube welcomes back Bristol quartet Minima to provide a suitably creepy live score for this atmospheric thriller. Their Lodger score was written in 2014 and was the first to feature Minima’s expanded instrumental range of double bass, dulcimer, synthesizer, mandolin and autoharp.
