Mark Wahlberg turns full-on action hero for this first film in a proposed trilogy, which casts him as a CIA agent charged with transporting a ‘high-value target’ from an American embassy in a hostile country to the airport – a distance of, you guessed it, 22 Miles (a little further than that lightweight Bruce Willis’s 16 Blocks, then).
This marks the third collaboration between Wahlberg and director Peter Berg, though their previous films have all been flag-salutin’ true tales of all-American heroism: Lone Survivor, Deepwater Horizon and Patriots Day.
