Adapted from Howard Kaplan‘s 1977 novel of the same title, this old-school political thriller stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as German-born Mossad agent Ari Ben-Sion, who’s assigned to smuggle a Jewish chemical weapons scientist out of Syria.
Alas, reviews have been poor, the concensus being that although all the spy movie cliches are present and correct, it’s all fatally unthrilling. It’s assured of a footnote in cinema history, however, for featuring John Hurt‘s last screen performance.
