Luc Besson follows the floptastic dud Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets, which almost led to the collapse of his debt-laden EuropaCorp, with a return to more familiar, bankable territory. He’s also been mired in #MeToo controversy, having been accused last year of rape and sexual harassment.
The film? It’s another of those trademark Besson pseudo-feminist thrillers (Nikita, Lucy, etc), with Russian supermodel Sasha Luss cast as, erm, a model-turned-assassin. Helen Mirren plays her boss and the cast also includes Luke Evans and Cillian Murphy.
