Terry Gilliam’s blackly comic dystopian masterpiece: a visually stunning, post-Orwellian downbeat fantasy with Jonathan Pryce as a humble statistician thrust into the world of terrorist Robert De Niro by a simple computer error. The script and art direction both received Oscar nominations, but it should have won a great deal more.
It’s back on screen at the Regrave Theatre as part of a Terry Gilliam double bill with Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas and at the Everyman in the cinema’s Saturday late night cult classics season.
