Who knew we needed another found footage horror flick, let alone a sequel to 2014’s online stalker hit? Don’t answer that, because here it is.
Dark Web repeats the original gimmick of never leaving a MacBook screen. This time, a dumb kid finds a dumped laptop and starts to fill it with personal data, little suspecting that it’s riddled with spyware installed by the previous owner – a sicko underground hacker. There’s a message in here somewhere about daft teens freely disclosing way too much info about themselves on social media. But like the previous film, this is just a cyber-veneer on a Horror 101 plot.
