Mitcho the cat and Sebastian the elephant lead a jolly, uneventful life in Sunnytown until their kindly mayor JB disappears and his dastardly deputy constructs a ghastly carbuncle of a new town hall that blocks out all the sun. Then Mitcho gets a message in a bottle from JB which reveals that he’s stranded on Mysterious Island, where he has made a great discovery. Naturally, our heroes head out to sea in a giant pear to rescue JB, with a little help from a mad scientist, some very odd pirates and a dragon-shaped submarine.
It’s just possible that this Danish family animation is a sophisticated political allegory. Alternatively, the people behind it may simply be on powerful mind-altering drugs. You decide.
