Fifteen years on from their last show, eighties elctro-poppers Soft Cell celebrate their 40th anniversary with a sold-out farewell show at London’s O2 arena. It’s broadcast live to cinemas in HD and 5.1 surround sound using a 13-camera set-up directed by Tim Sidwell, who’s worked with everyone from Steps to Marillion.
Expect to hear Tainted Love at some point in the proceedings. Fascinating trivia note: even during the punk years, frontman Marc Almond retained his love of prog rock and heavy metal. An early incarnation of Soft Cell even used to cover Paranoid. Respect!
