- Running Time
- 78 mins
Having perished in an air raid, a bunch of 1940s folks (John Clements, Googie Withers, Raymond Huntley and Renee Gadd) pitch up at the gates of a mysterious city and describe what they hope it will be like. An intriguing if rather talky and, inevitably, stagey adaptation of a J.B. Priestley play, Basil Dearden‘s 1944 film also includes a cameo by Priestley himself.
It’s on screen as part of the Cities, Future Cities and Film season and will be followed by a talk on war-time visions of the future in Britain.
