Based on a 2009 Argentinean film of the same title (unreleased in the UK), this is one of those simple tales of self-discovery that tend to divide audiences between warm’n’fuzzy types who are comforted and uplifted and the more cynical, who reach for the nearest sickbag.
Kelly Macdonald gets a much-overdue leading role as a meek New York wife and mom who’s drawn out of her shell and broadens her horizons when she discovers a talent for – I shit you not – competitive jigsaw puzzling.
