A comfortingly familiar musical dramedy for the easily heartwarmed, filled with sentiment and tepid indie pop. At least the performances are strong in this father-daughter bonding flick.
Nick Offerman plays a record store owner whose songwriting collaboration with his daughter Kiersey Clemons yields an unlikely internet hit. Ted Danson gets another bartender role and Toni Collette is cast as Nick’s landlady.
