Climax

Gaspar Noé

Running Time
96 mins

“You despised I Stand Alone, you hated Irreversible, you loathed Enter the Void, you cursed Love – now try Climax,” screams the poster for this latest outrage by irascible provocateur Gaspar Noé.

Alas for poor old Gaspar’s reputation, this latest film has failed to repel critics and punters, despite being described by Variety as “Fame as directed by the Marquis de Sade with a Steadicam”. And, yes, as that description suggests, it is, at least in part, a musical. On acid. Literally. A diverse and athletic modern dance crew strut their stuff to pounding dance music, whereupon their Sangria is spiked with LSD. Weirdness and nastiness ensue in equal measure.
