BAFTA nominated sibling filmmaker duo Jacqui and David Morris, whose credits include McCullin, were given access to mountains of material by the Nureyev Foundation for this new documentary about the ballet star, which includes around 16 minutes of never-before-seen material showcasing his ‘sexually provocative side’.

Their film traces Rudolf Nureyev’s life from humble beginnings to superstardom and his subsequent defection to the West, placing all this in the political context of the times. The original score is by award-winning composer Alex Baranowski. Also included is series of exclusive modern dance tableaux directed by Royal Ballet alumnus Russell Maliphant.
