The Festival

Director
Iain Morris
Certificate

Running Time
98 mins

Setting a film against the backdrop of an actual music festival is hardly a novel idea (remember the mediocre You Instead, shot at T in the Park?), but this one from the people behind The Inbetweeners TV series and movies has another bash at capturing the authentic British festival experience.

After being dumped by his girlfriend, glum Nick (Joe Thomas – Simon from The Inbetweeners) is dragged off by a chum for a full-on three-day festival blowout to perk him up a bit. The supporting cast includes Jermaine Clement, Noel Fielding and Nick Frost. Scenes were shot at Bestival and the Leeds Festival last year, but much of the footage comes from a large festival set created in a field in Chew Magna. Additional scenes were shot in Ashton Court and Hengrove Park. The Colston Hall was used for the graduation sequence seen at the start of the trailer above, while other local locations that you may recognise include Westbury Baptist Church and Bristol Medical Simulation Centre.
