Cousin of Spike and purveyor of mediocre comedies such as The Best Man and Scary Movie 5, Malcolm D. Lee finally enjoyed a big commercial and critical hit with last year’s Girls Trip.
His follow-up is clearly intended to repeat this success by teaming that film’s breakout star Tiffany Haddish with Kevin Hart for a comedy about a bunch of miscreants who are forced to attend night school in the hope of passing the exams that’ll permit them to finish high school.
