Film

The Predator

Director
Shane Black
Certificate
15
Running Time
107 mins

As usual with these things, this fourth (or sixth if you really must count those terrible Alien vs Predator movies) film in the Predator series is being billed as a ‘fresh take’, ‘bold reimagining’, blah blah, etc., etc., rather than further flogging of a dead franchise.

On the plus side, Shane Black, who appeared in the first film and whose writing credits include the original Lethal Weapons, has written and directed this one. Jacob Tremblay (the nipper from Room) stars as a kid who inadvertently brings those pesky predators back to Earth. All the usual ensues, made rather more challenging for poor old Homo sapiens by the fact that those ravenous alien hunters have given themselves some nifty upgrades since we last saw them.
