Actually, beneath the very ‘now’ conceit, this is a throwback eighties-style mismatched buddycom with The Big Sick writer/director/star Kumail Nanjiani as a timid cabbie who finds himself obliged to ferry bonkers, vengeful detective Dave Bautista (y’know – Drax the Destroyer in the Marvel Cinemaic Universe) around LA in hot pursuit of evil smack dealer Iko Uwais (Indonesian martial artist and star/fight choreographer of those Raid movies).
