Bears secure play-off semi-final spot with win at Wasps

By Martin Booth  Saturday Jun 3, 2023

A 12-minute hattrick from second half substitute Lark Davies helped Bristol Bears Women on their way to a 22-41 win away against Wasps.

Meg Davies, Claire Molloy, Tilly Smale and Grace White were the other try-scorers as the Bears came back from a 17-10 deficit at the interval.

The victory secured a fourth place finish in the league which means that Dave Ward’s team will travel to Gloucester-Hartpury on Saturday for a West Country derby Premier 15s play-off semi-final.

Bears flanker Alisha Butchers made a return to the pitch on Saturday after a long injury lay-off.

“It’s great to be back, I love playing for the Bears,” the Welsh international said.

“This is the business end of the season and I’m so excited that I’m able to be a part of it.

“We have a got a big training week ahead and I’m really looking forward to see how the week unfolds and how we head into the Gloucester game next week.”
