Narrow loss for Glos as they start T20 title defence
There were some familiar sights at Nevil Road as Gloucestershire began the defence of their T20 Blast title.
Tez was back dancing to the music after every boundary, David Payne was balling dot-balls and competing stag do’s challenged each other to down another beer.
But there were also some new additions on Friday evening: reversible yellow or black bucket hats from the club shop were the fashion item of choice and Downsy is the new pitchside reporter repeating what he is already well-known for at Ashton Gate.

Gloucestershire captain Jack Taylor won the toss and put Kent into bat, with Daniel Bell-Drummond top-scoring with 60 in a total score of 208-3 which featured a Zak Crawley cameo of 37 off just 17 balls.
“We need to see more of Tez dancing,” someone in the Mound Stand said as Gloucestershire started their innings well behind the required run-rate.
Cue to the crease Oli Price, smashing four sixes in one over as he raced to a score of 51 before being caught by Bell-Drummond on the boundary off the bowling of Nathan Gilchrist.
Price was ably supported by captain Jack Taylor (23) and Ben Charlesworth (38); but in the end, Gloucestershire fell only four runs short of chasing what at times had seemed like an unlikely target
