Bristol Charity Advent Calendar 2021, day two: Helping Homeless Believe
Founded in 2017, Helping Homeless Believe provides an emergency response to anyone spotted rough sleeping in Bristol and South Gloucestershire.
By offering a survival pack of basic essentials to keep them alive, along with signposting to services that may be of help, the charity offers nourishment, support and supplies to people who are sleeping rough.
As well as providing this basic support, Helping Homeless Believe emphasises the importance of building relationships with those who have been let down by society.
“We help with advice and support attending appointments around housing, probation, benefits and drug & alcohol services. We have helped many people off the streets into housing, whilst continuing the support around their tenancy,” said Hayley Jennings, founder of the charity.
“After volunteering within different services for ten years, I wanted to do more to help. Having experienced homelessness myself along with family members battling addiction this has always been something close to my heart.”

Helping Homeless Believe is running a property pledge where they are asking people to donate a minimum of £1 a month, which allows them to provide hot meals, clothing, sleeping bags, phones, phone credit and much more.
