My Bristol Favourites: Tom Robinson
Tom Robinson is the owner of Gloucester Road Books.
Gloucester Road Books is taking part in Independent Bookshop Week from June 18 to 25, with special offers throughout the week and Sandor Katz taking part in an event on Friday where he will be talking all about fermentation techniques.
These are Tom’s top-five Bristol favourites:
The River Avon Trail, specifically the bit from Feeder Road to Keynsham

“This is a perfect day-off-walk, with good pub options at Hanham Lock or Keynsham, and a train station to take you back home if you’re too tired for the return leg.”

“I’m very fortunate to have Pawson’s greengrocers next door to my shop. For many people in Bishopston, it’s a weekly site of pilgrimage.”

“The Hillgrove is my favourite pub in Bristol and my happy place. The beer is great, the people are lovely and the view that meets you when you step outside at the end of the evening is pretty spectacular too.”

“Centrespace Studios is home to the Letterpress Collective and Jessica Thorn Ceramics. I’ve done many evening classes with both, and they are always totally absorbing.”

“Beautiful in any season. The trees provide shelter from the sun in summer and from the rain the rest of the year. I’ve been walking here for five years and I still get lost every time. I love it.”
