My Bristol Favourites: Nancy Medina
Nancy Medina is an award-winning freelance theatre director originally from Brooklyn in New York, who this year won the prestigious Royal Theatrical Support Trust Sir Peter Hall Director Award. She is an acting tutor at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School and course leader for a post-16 Professional Acting Diploma at Boomsatsuma.

Dundry Hill

“This is a great spot. The best time to go is nearing sunset when it’s usually pretty quiet. One side is a view of Somerset farmland and Chew Valley Lake; the other side is Bristol. Once the sun sets, it’s amazing to see the city lights start to spring up as everything else goes dark. This place is fun for the kids as well as they love how close the planes feel flying over us.”
St Werburgh’s
“St Werburgh’s feels so different from the rest of Bristol. It’s a very unique community. I love St Werburgh’s City Farm and their family-friendly festivals throughout the year. It’s also my favorite area for an arts trail.”
Bakers & Co
“Bakers & Co on Gloucester Road makes great coffee and the best huevos rancheros I have had so far in England. When you visit, definitely ask for the spicy mango sauce.”
Eastville Park / Snuff Mills / Oldbury Court
“I recommend the entire loop. The walk is beautiful and worth the trip. Wellies recommended. The most magical walk I’ve ever taken there was after a heavy snowfall, early in the day. The place was transformed into a Narnia-esque winter land (although it’s also great in all seasons).
