Week of MetroBus work closes M32 overnight

It’s a week of road and lane closures on the M32 as work to remove the narrow lanes between Junction 1 and Junction 2 begins.

TravelWest say the closures will take place overnight between 9pm and 6am for the rest of the week:

Tuesday, December 13 – Full closure M32 northbound J1-J2

Wednesday, December 14 – Lane 1 closure M32 southbound J1-J2

Thursday, December 15 – Lane 1 closure M32 northbound J1-J2

Friday, December 16 – Lane 1 closure M32 southbound J1-J2

Meanwhile the existing south bound bus lane on the M32 is being extended from Junction 3 to the railway bridge that crosses the motorway.

To create the new bus lane there are narrow lanes between Junction 2 and Junction 3 which will be in place until March 2017. While the work takes place the speed limit through this area has been decreased from 40mph to 30mph, enforced by average speed camera.

The 50km long rapid transport MetroBus network is expected to begin operating in autumn 2017.
