‘Transformational’ new £60m public transport hub at Bristol Airport

By Martin Booth  Tuesday Sep 26, 2023

Work has begun to build a new multi-storey car park at Bristol Airport for more than 2,000 cars.

It will form part of a “transformational public transport hub project” which will also see new internal roads and a new footbridge linking the car parks to the terminal building.

The £60m scheme will be the airport’s largest ever capital investment since the terminal opened in 2000 and is due to take 18 months to complete.

Bristol Airport CEO, Dave Lees, said: “This project is transformational for our customers.”

Lees added: “As with all large-scale projects, they are complex and the development work will need to be phased to accommodate the normal day to day airport operations.

“During the project, customers will see several temporary changes taking place, including temporary relocation of some car parks and changes to internal roads layouts.

“We will continue to keep customers informed of the changes via directional signage, customer messaging on car park bookings, the website and on social media.”
