Water added for the first time to Bristol’s new inland surf lake

By Ellie Pipe  Wednesday Oct 9, 2019

It has been years in the making and now Bristol’s £25m inland surf lake is taking shape – as evidenced in this stunning timelapse video.

The Wave is due to open in November, when surfers of all abilities will be able to sample waves created by cutting-edge technology in the 200m lake on the 77-acre site in Easter Compton, north of Cribbs Causeway.

The vision of project founder Nick Hounsfield is to “create a place where anyone and everyone can surf on safe waves, all year round, and experience the many mental and physical health benefits it offers”.
