Refugee crisis drop-offs to reopen on Monday
Drop-off points for donations towards the refugee crisis will reopen on Monday.
Calais Refugee Solidarity Bristol, the volunteer group organising the relief response in Bristol had to close all locations last weekend due to overwhelming support.
The group has since opened an overflow warehouse, donated to them by a company in Hengrove, to sort through the donations ready for delivery.
is needed now More than ever
On Friday they confirmed two donation points – Bristol Wood Recycling Project and Emmeus – would reopen on Monday along with at least two others.
The group said it needed time to reorganise and prepare strict lists of what is needed, after it had to throw away one third of all donations collected last week.
Bristol has been praised as one of the most compassionate cities in the UK for its donations and support to the crisis.
Supporters are due to meet at the fountains in the city centre at 12pm on Saturday to show solidarity on a National Day of Action.
