Police remove Palestine Action protesters from building

By Hannah Massoudi  Monday Apr 14, 2025

Members of Palestine Action have targeted the offices of Allianz in Bristol city centre.

Protesters sprayed red paint and blocked access to the building on Victoria Street on Monday morning in one of a series of coordinated protests across the UK.

They are demanding the insurance giant “immediately ceases its provision of insurance services to the Israeli arms giant Elbit Systems”.

Three people were arrested by police officers, several of who wore protective suits.

“Today’s direct action marks the latest chapter in our unrelenting campaign to hold the insurance giant accountable for its role in facilitating Israel’s violent occupation of Palestine.”

Protesters added: “Allianz’s role in insuring Elbit makes them a key player in the cycle of violence that devastates Palestinian lives and livelihoods.

“If Allianz is serious about corporate responsibility, it must immediately end its business relationship with Elbit Systems and stop profiting from war crimes.

“Today’s blockade is a continuation of the campaign against Allianz’s complicity which has consistently made clear: as long as Allianz continues to protect Elbit and enable its operations, we will be at their doors, demanding they end their business relationship with the arms manufacturer.”

An Allianz spokesperson said: “”We respect everyone’s right to have and express their opinion.

“However, we will not give in to threats and criminal behaviour that endanger the safety or security of our people, business and property.

“Our business operations and service to customers and partners have not been affected by these attacks.”
