Plants added to Centre as artwork continues to deteriorate
A touch of greenery is being added to the Centre as the colourful artwork only unveiled in September continues to deteriorate.
On Thursday morning, a team in hi-vis were planting flowerbeds and plants for pollinators as part of the hoped-for improvements to the area that have been taking place for much of 2025.
The works will cost around £365,000 with the majority of that funded by Bristol City Council.
Part of the artwork on the resurfaced Centre, Our Common Ground by Oshii – which was funded by the council and the former Bristol Business Improvement District – has already been repainted.
A council spokesperson has previously said that “expected wear and tear will be managed as part of our ongoing maintenance plan”.
