Peace vigil held to mourn deaths

Victims of war have been remembered in Bristol.

A peace vigil took place on College Green calling for an end to all conflicts.

Among those taking part were representatives from Na’amod, a group of British Jews “seeking to end our community’s support for the occupation in the struggle for freedom and justice for all Palestinians and Israelis”.

People attending the vigil on Saturday afternoon formed a circle in the middle of which they lit candles.

Vigil organisers were both Jews and Palestinians aiming to commemorate lives lost, with poems read and songs sang.

Organisers invited people from all faiths and backgrounds to come together in mourning.
