Opportunity for fledgling photographers to exhibit their work

By Betty Woolerton  Friday Jan 7, 2022

An open call has been announced for budding photographers to have their pieces displayed at an exhibition in the spring.

Future Leap, a sustainable business network with a workspace hub on Gloucester Road, is seeking submissions of photographs that highlight the importance of UK biodiversity and connection with nature.

Submissions could be showcased at a week-long exhibition starting on March 3, but submissions must be by January 31.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

During the exhibition itself, attendees can vote on their favourite piece, and the winning artist will receive an award, £100 coworking credit at Future Leap and free access to their standard events for a year.

Falling on the annual World Wildlife Day, the exhibition has been specially curated to provide a platform for fledgling photographers to share their work with the wider Bristol community.

Future Leap, who “give organisations the space, knowledge, contacts and tools to accelerate their sustainability journey and progress towards carbon neutrality carbon neutral workspace”, say that there are 18 spaces for exhibitionists.

While a speaker is yet to be announced, Future Leap have confirmed that the exhibition will consist of informative talks, drinks and the gallery.

Chloe Raynor, Future Leap’s communications and marketing manager said: “This exhibition is aimed at highlighting the importance of UK biodiversity and of connecting with nature, as well as steps that we can take as individuals towards making a positive impact on the wildlife around us.”

Future Leap hope the event will give rise to a better understanding of the tangible steps individuals can take to  make a positive impact on wildlife.

They said: “The UK has a beautiful, diverse natural ecosystem that often goes unnoticed. With the Climate and Ecological Emergency playing an ever increasing part of our lives, it is time to draw attention to our most precious wildlife and natural habitats.

“With more attention and education on the beauty and fragility of UK’s biodiversity, we can better protect and support our island’s natural habitats.”
