‘Once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver new homes, green spaces and community benefits’

By Martin Booth  Monday Sep 15, 2025

More details have been revealed for a 26-acre site which will contain 510 new homes.

The detailed proposals for Longmoor Village have been described as “a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver new homes, green spaces and community benefits for south Bristol”.

Development of the former landfill adjacent to the metrobus route close to Long Ashton Park & Ride will help fund the construction of the new Ashton Gate Sporting Quarter.

Some years ago there was speculation that a new stadium for Bristol City and Bristol Bears could be built here at Ashton Vale but instead the sale of the land will help pay for a major transformation of the areas surrounding the existing stadium.

Allison Homes south west managing director, Glyn Mabey, said: “Longmoor represents a once-in-a-generation opportunity to deliver new homes, green spaces and community benefits for south Bristol.

“Our proposals not only provide much-needed housing, including 30 per cent affordable homes, but also help unlock funding for the new Ashton Gate Sports & Convention Centre.

“We want to work closely with local residents to shape these plans and ensure Longmoor becomes a neighbourhood the whole community can be proud of.”

Allison Homes is hosting a drop-in event on Friday from 3pm to 7.30pm at the Ashton Vale Community Centre on Risdale Road. The proposals can also be viewed from Wednesday at www.longmoorneighbourhood.co.uk
