It should not be unusual to see children and their adults cycling safely through the streets of Bristol but the current disjointed infrastructure across the city still leaves much to be desired.
Bristol’s annual Kidical Mass bike ride made its way from Castle Park to Queen Square, heading along Baldwin Street, St Stephen’s Street, Colston Avenue and Broad Quay.
The Kidical Mass alliance is “united by the vision that children and young people should be able to move around safely and independently on foot and by bike”.
is needed now More than ever
Just before the ride was due to set off at midday on Saturday, a cyclist was hit and seriously injured in a collision with a car on Triangle West in Clifton; a horrible reminder of how dangerous it can be to travel on two wheels.
