Hundreds march through Bristol in solidarity with trans community
Hundreds gathered in solidarity with Bristol’s trans community on College Green, before marching through the city centre on Saturday afternoon.
The march is one of many the city has seen since a Supreme Court ruling in April concluded that the legal definition of a woman is only based on their biological sex and not their acquired sex.
Alongside chants in support of the trans community, the crowd also rallied support for Palestine and the ongoing conflict in Gaza.

A group of cyclists with Palestine flags flying on their bikes also parked near City Hall to support the crowd in their collaborative causes.
Placards demonstrating the spirit of pro-trans rights supporters were held high as the crowd made its way through the city towards Broadmead.
One such placard read: “Fuck cops. Arm trans women.”
Addressing the crowd before the rally, one speaker said: “Our work will not be over until the political and economic systems that facilitate and necessitate the destruction of free thought and identity are themselves destroyed.
“It will not be over until we are organised. We are seeing movements across the world that are successfully bringing about change.
“They are demonstrating the destructive and constructive force that is generated when large groups of people cooperate and dream of a different future.
“It is possible, it works and we can do it too.”
