Fire breaks out in derelict pub

By Seun Matiluko  Saturday Jun 21, 2025

People at the nearby bus stop were shocked as smoke and flames emerged from the derelict Farriers Arms pub on Fishponds Road on Friday night.

The fire started at around 7.30pm and Avon Fire and Rescue Service sent around 30 firefighters to deal with the blaze.

The Farriers Arms was built in 1872 and is currently owned by Morrisons, the supermarket that has a location next to the pub on Fishponds Road.
