Car crashes into pizza restaurant
There were thankfully no injuries after a car ended up inside a pizza restaurant on Stokes Croft, with the two workers inside and the driver left unscathed.
Heads were left being scratched as to how the driver of the Black BMW X5 had managed to wedge their vehicle inside Pizza Is Lovely, which had only opened in this unit next to Cafe Kino in May.
Bristol24/7 understands that the car was being driven towards Cheltenham Road when it hit a car parked outside the Carriageworks on the other side of Stokes Croft and somehow crashed into Pizza Is Lovely.

After the incident happened soon before 5pm on Sunday, police closed Stokes Croft at its junction with Ashley Road.
Neighbouring businesses were also forced to shut, with Pizza is Lovely later boarded up and the structural damage to the building – which has multiple flats above it – due to be assessed.
Writing on Instagram, the Pizza Is Lovely team wrote: “There’s been a road accident involving our Stokes Croft venue and we will have to close for a small while for repairs.
“Thankfully nobody has been injured and all the team are OK!”

In 2018, a car crashed into the former Emmeline on Cheltenham Road just a few hundred yards from Sunday’s incident.
One question the police need to ask is how the car that crashed into Pizza Is Lovely managed to violently crash at such a velocity when the speed limit on the road is 20mph.
