How to build Bristol’s newest bridge
Work has started on the construction of a new curved steel bridge to connect Castle Park with the new Finzels Reach development.
The 91-metre Finzels Bridge will not open to the public until January, but this week it is being transported in pieces by barge from Cattle Market Wharf next to Temple Meads to be fixed into position.
The first small sections have been floated down the Floating Harbour, with the final large section expected to be lowered into place on Thursday, with further works following to stabilise and complete the £2.7 million bridge.
