Bristol Old Vic scraps booking fees

By Lydia Ellis  Monday Jul 24, 2017

Good news theatre fans – coinciding with its autumn ticket sale, Bristol Old Vic has announced that its booking fees are to be scrapped.

Assuaging fears that the removal of the £1.50 fee would increase ticket prices, the theatre’s chief executive, Emma Stenning, has assured theatre-goers that there will be no noticeable difference, explaining the removal of the payment will increase transparency in the buying process, not the cost of the tickets themselves.

Ticket prices for the Old Vic’s Autumn season start from £7.50, and now the price you see when you purchase the ticket will be the final amount that you pay.

EatDrink24/7 Launch Party is back on July 8 2026!
Exclusive collabs from Bristol’s favourite food vendors, available for one night only. Be first to grab your free copy of the EatDrink24/7 guide – plus every ticket comes with a free limited-edition beer can.

Picks of the autumn season include a flagship production of Harold Pinter’s The Caretakerstarring The Royal Shakespeare Company’s Patrice Naiambana.

For children aged eight and above, Emma Rice’s Christmas hit The Little Match Girlfresh from a rapturous response at London’s The Globe Theatre, promises music and magic.

Not to be forgotten, younger children can enjoy the theatre’s chaotic Christmas production of Snow Globe, suitable for three-to-seven year-olds.

The Old Vic’s autumn season runs from September 2017-January 2018.
